I'm running WoW on a Macbook, a double-hit against gaming
Heres My question:
I'm running WoW on a Macbook, a double-hit against gaming. First off it's a mac, so what are my options for improving my gameplay there, second it's a mac laptop so keep that in mind.
I'm running one of the white polycarbonate macbooks, not the new unibody ones. It is Intel based, runs 2gb of memory, 2.4ghz processor speed, I'm not sure what type of graphics its running but my system info says Chipset Model: GMA X3100.
I run with pretty much all my Visual effects set to low or off, except for the ones necessary to raid. So I'm running anywhere from 15fps to around 25fps in game soloing, doing quests, not being in dalaran. My fps drops to around 7-10fps in 10mans and 2-5fps in 25 mans. Granted I run alot of UI add ons, so I know this is an issue, but I work through the low framerates because they are all addons I dont want to give up.
I definitely want to upgrade where I can. Since it's a laptop I dont believe I can upgrade the graphics card, but I may be mistaken. So i've been looking at purchasing the 24-inch Apple LED Cinema Display. Will buying this improve my graphics, and Improve my framerate, or is there a better option to help me out. I dont plan on buying a new computer as this is only a year old, and wasn't into gaming when I bought it.
Sorry for the long post, but this has been something i've been wondering about. Being a Mac user I dont think I have manu options.
